A Very rare and finely carved Maori canoe bailer
Carved with double Tiki heads from a outward protruding double neck handle
Provenance: Collected by Rev. Alfred Fairbrother, Baptist minister to the Maori, 1882-85
20 1/2″ long x 7 1/4″ wide 53 x 18.5 cm
Condition: minor wood split through middle front end otherwise fine
Period 19th century.
